Southcross Custom Fabrication applies our in-house laser cutting services to a variety of materials and industries.
Our precision laser cutting produces better edge quality and better tolerances than plasma. We also have the equipment and expertise necessary for reverse engineering, design assistance, turnkey manufacturing services, OEM products, and cutting components and sub-assemblies.
Design / Specifications
Southcross Custom Fabrication uses a two-axis CO2 (gaseous) Laser for all laser cutting services. Our lasers are capable of cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, and plate. We can work with these materials within the following dimensions/specifications:
Thickness
- 1 in. for mild steel, 1/2 in. for aluminum, and 3/8 in. for stainless steel.
Our CO2 Lasers have a maximum power output of 4 kW and an accuracy of 0.004 in.
Production Volumes & Lead Times
We produce parts for our clients in volumes of one up to 50,000 parts per year. Our specialty production shop can produce prototypes or single parts for special applications; and we can ramp up to large-scale production — all at the same facility.
Most projects can be completed in as quickly as 2-3 days, but the exact lead-time depends on the scope of the project. We quote lead times on a job-by-job basis. We also offer emergency or rush services to drastically shorten lead-times if necessary.
